Bethany Bell - The CDD Method

I’m Bethany Bell, a dog behaviourist, educator and the founder of Canine Dialogue Dynamics (CDD). I work with people who want something a little different from conventional dog training: a more holistic, natural and relationship-centred way of understanding and supporting their dog.

My work isn’t centred around obedience, drilling behaviours or turning dogs into perfectly trained versions of themselves. I’m far more interested in helping dogs learn how to cope with real life, understand the world around them, communicate with their people and develop the confidence and emotional skills they need to make good choices for themselves.

That means looking beyond the behaviour we can see. Reactivity, anxiety, fear, overexcitement, difficulty settling, struggles on walks or problems with everyday life are rarely just about teaching a dog what we want them to do instead. I help owners understand what is happening underneath, how their individual dog experiences situations, and how we can teach, guide and support them without losing sight of who that dog actually is.

Through Canine Dialogue Dynamics, I use communication, natural learning, autonomy, thoughtful guidance and real-life experience rather than relying on treats, obedience exercises or constant training. Dogs are encouraged to think, learn, communicate and gradually become better equipped to handle their own lives.

I’ve worked professionally with dogs for over 15 years and support dogs of all ages, from puppies and adolescents through to adults and seniors. My aim is not to create a different dog. It is to help you understand the one already in front of you, strengthen the relationship you have together, and make everyday life feel easier for both of you.

I offer online support as well as in-person consultations in Surrey and surrounding areas.
